ONE EKITI
Voting Policy
Rules governing all polls, elections, and award votes on the ONE EKITI platform.
Last updated: May 15, 2026
1. Purpose
ONE EKITI provides a digital voting platform to amplify community voices on matters relevant to Ekiti State — from cultural recognition to community leadership. Our goal is a fair, transparent, and fraud-free voting experience.
2. Voter Eligibility
- Only registered, verified members of the ONE EKITI platform may vote.
- Each member is entitled to one (1) free vote per poll or award category, unless stated otherwise in the specific campaign.
- Additional votes may be purchased as described in Section 3 below.
- Voting rights may be restricted on accounts that have been flagged for suspicious activity.
3. Free & Paid Votes
Where a poll or campaign supports paid votes:
- Each member receives one (1) free vote.
- Additional votes ("vote packs") are available for purchase at prices displayed on the voting page at the time of the campaign.
- Paid votes are credited to your account immediately upon confirmed payment via Paystack.
- Vote packs are campaign-specific — unused votes in a pack cannot be transferred to a different campaign.
- All vote purchases are final. See our Refund Policy for details.
4. Voting Integrity & Anti-Fraud
We take voting integrity very seriously. The following practices are strictly prohibited:
- Multiple accounts: Creating more than one account to obtain additional free votes is fraud and will result in permanent ban.
- Automated voting: Use of bots, scripts, click farms, or any automated tool to cast votes is forbidden.
- Vote buying: Paying third parties to vote on your behalf outside of the Platform's legitimate paid-vote mechanism is prohibited.
- Account sharing: Sharing login credentials to allow others to vote on your account is not permitted.
We use a combination of IP analysis, device fingerprinting, voting-rate monitoring, and payment cross-checks to detect and investigate suspicious patterns. Confirmed fraudulent votes will be voided without refund and the associated accounts suspended.
5. Campaign Rules
Each voting campaign (poll, election, or award) may have its own specific rules covering:
- Eligibility criteria for nominees or options;
- Voting period (open and close dates and times);
- Maximum votes per person per campaign;
- Whether results are published in real time or announced after voting closes.
Campaign-specific rules are displayed on the relevant voting page and take precedence over this general Policy where they conflict.
6. Results
- Results are calculated from validated, non-fraudulent votes only.
- Results are announced by the Platform at the conclusion of each campaign. The timing and method of announcement are at our discretion.
- Once announced, results are final and binding. The Platform does not accept appeals on the outcome of a completed vote.
- We reserve the right to void a campaign and issue refunds (for paid votes) if we determine that the integrity of a vote has been irreparably compromised.
7. Disputes
If you believe a technical error affected your vote (e.g., a payment was deducted but votes were not credited), contact us within 72 hours of the incident at info@oneekiti.ng with your payment reference. We will investigate and, where the error is confirmed on our side, credit the votes or issue a refund.
Disputes about the outcome or fairness of a voting campaign (rather than a technical fault) will not be upheld after results have been announced.
8. Changes to Campaigns
We reserve the right to extend, shorten, or cancel a voting campaign at any time for operational or integrity reasons. Affected users with paid votes will be notified and offered a refund in the event of cancellation.
